Daniel is a professional engineer, director and investor with over 35 years of delivering major complex technical resource and infrastructure projects globally with his own company and previously with companies such as Fluor, KBR, SNC Lavalin and Exxon Mobil in most times very challenging environments, such as the Middle East and Indonesia during wartimes and civil unrest. He co-founded and ran a successful global engineering company, Calder Maloney, based in Brisbane, employing up to 65 engineers and project support, with an office and engineering institute located in Kazakhstan.
Daniel is secretary and director of a social enterprise and charity, Nature Freedom, that aims to empower, inspire and connect young people with disabilities to nature, and he serves on the committees of two local Rugby Union clubs. He has a deep understanding of regional issues and opportunities, having lived and worked in many regions in Queensland including Cairns, Mackay, Moranbah, Mt Isa, Toowoomba and Gladstone, and offers a high level of both technical and commercial acumen to help drive regional economic development in Queensland.
Daniel has BE, MBA and GAID qualifications and is currently exploring family business enterprises around renewable energies and export, agriculture, resources and carbon credits.
