Margo Couldrey has two decades of experience in providing advice on vocational education and training policy and practice, strategies to lift workforce productivity and participation, and investment in skills. She was a senior executive in the former Australian National Training Authority and has run her own consulting company since 2005, specialising in advising governments and industry on training system policy and practice, undertaking national and state policy evaluations, and developing and implementing regulatory reform.
Her executive leadership experience includes managing intergovernmental relations, working with national committees to achieve policy reforms in Australia's vocational education and training system, and 10 years in the administration of human rights and anti-discrimination law. She has conducted research and consultations on regional skills development in the agrifood industries, skills for the transport and logistics, construction, hospitality and services industries, and labour force participation for young people and mature age people.
Margo has an interest in skills development for the global economy and was from 2014 to 2018 the General Secretary of the International Vocational Education and Training Association. She also advises organisations on strategic planning, good governance and strategies for effectively leading organisational change.
