
Allan Morton is an experienced executive, strategist and board advisor with a strong record of leading transformation, regional economic development initiatives and cross-sectorinnovation. His career spans senior roles across the resources, advanced manufacturing,METS, agribusiness and technology sectors, with a consistent focus on strengthening industrycapability, fostering collaboration and enabling sustainable economic outcomes for regionalcommunities.
As the founding architect and inaugural Executive Director of enviroMETS (Qld), Allan led theredesign of an underperforming industry cluster into an independent, purpose-driven not-for-profit focused on mine-closure innovation and productive post-mining land use. Heestablished the organisation’s strategic framework, created its Lighthouse Projects program,and built partnerships across mining companies, Traditional Owners, researchers, governmentagencies and regional stakeholders.
Allan’s earlier career includes executive leadership roles in manufacturing and engineering,industry-led research collaborations, and numerous transformation projects deliveredthrough his consultancy, Waypoint Strategies. He has lived and worked extensively inregional Queensland, providing him with deep practical understanding of the opportunitiesand challenges facing regional economies.
He brings to RDA Brisbane a commitment to strengthening Brisbane–region connections,mobilising capital-city decision-makers, and supporting Queensland’s regions to growthrough innovation, investment attraction and industry diversification.
