John Anderson

John Anderson is the Chair of RDA Central & Western Queensland. He has extensive board experience as Chair, Member, Non-Executive Director and Committee Member for a diverse range of trusts, companies, community and non-profit organisations.

John is a life member of the National Association of Apex Clubs of Australia and is proud to serve as Chair of RDACWQ.

As an engagement specialist, facilitator and advocate, John has brokered and supported critical partnerships between Governments, industries and communities including native title and cultural heritage agreements across the Surat and Bowen Basins, innovative eco and cultural tourism initiatives, regional and remote area economic enterprises, and consumer health and wellbeing activities.

He served a near 30-year career with Queensland Government in Barcaldine, Toowoomba, and South-East Queensland across multiple agencies including environment and heritage, rail and ports, main roads and transport.

John is currently a Member of the Board of Professional Engineers Queensland; Member of the Lake Eyre Basin Community Advisory Committee; Member of the Medical Board of Australia (Queensland); and a Member of the First Nations Clean Energy and Climate Change Advisory Committee.

His former roles include Deputy Chair of the Queensland Building and Construction Board; Chair of Coexistence Queensland (formerly GasFields Commission); and Crime Reference Committee Member of the Crime and Corruption Commission Queensland.

John is also proud to lend his support in an ex-officio role to RDA Brisbane as its new metropolitan Chair and Committee pivots to strengthen relationships and collaborative partnerships with RDA Committees across regional Queensland.

John is committed to impactful leadership of RDA Central and Western Queensland building on the wisdom and legacies of former Committees and the applied skills and experiences of recently appointed members.
