Regional Queensland's future was the focus of a high-level meeting in Brisbane last week, bringing together leaders from all 11 Regional Development Australia (RDA) organisations across the state with senior Queensland Government representatives to discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping our regions.

The event, organised by RDA Brisbane in collaboration with the RDA Queensland network, provided an important opportunity for regional leaders to engage directly with Queensland Premier David Crisafulli, Minister for Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development Dale Last, Assistant Minister for Regional Development Bryson Head, Minister for Primary Industries Andrew Cripps, and Members of Parliament Wayde Chiesa and Bree James.

Discussions highlighted the value of strong collaboration between the Australian and Queensland Governments and reinforced the important role the RDA network plays in representing the needs and aspirations of regional communities. Speaking with a united voice, the Queensland RDAs outlined a range of shared priorities that are critical to the state's future prosperity.

Key areas of focus included the delivery of world-class infrastructure to support productivity and economic growth, innovative housing solutions to meet the needs of expanding communities, and energy initiatives
that will help underpin long-term regional development and investment.

The meeting demonstrated the strength of the Queensland RDA network and the benefits of coordinated advocacy across regions. By working together across jurisdictions, industries and communities, RDAs can help ensure regional perspectives are heard and that opportunities are maximised for communities throughout Queensland.

RDA Brisbane was proud to host the gathering and facilitate productive discussions that will help inform future collaboration between regional stakeholders and government decision-makers. The event reinforced a shared commitment to building stronger, more resilient and prosperous regions across Queensland.
