RDA Brisbane connects with Queensland Opposition on key regional priorities

Qld Opposition meeting

27 March 2026

RDA Brisbane Chair Kierien Dell and CEO Nicole Duguid recently met with Queensland Opposition Leader Steven Miles, Deputy Cameron Dick and Shadow Minister for Primary Industries and Rural Development Tom Smith, to discuss the critical role of the Regional Development Australia network in shaping economic outcomes across federal, state and local levels.

The conversation focused on key priorities for Queensland’s future, including opportunities arising from the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, strengthening sovereign capabilities and defence industry growth, and supporting regional jobs. We also highlighted the importance of delivering the right infrastructure, in the right place, at the right time to support thriving regional communities.

It was a valuable opportunity to connect with Queensland Labor leaders and continue advancing RDA Brisbane’s agenda for sustainable economic and regional development.
