Last week, RDA Brisbane CEO Nicole Duguid and Chair Kieren Dell met with Dominique Lamb (pictured), Director of Community Affairs to the President of the Brisbane Organising Committee for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Dominique LambWith Brisbane set to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games for the first time in 2032, the spotlight will shine not only on our capital city, but on communities across Queensland and Australia. The Games present a once-in-a-generation opportunity to showcase the heart and soul of our nation — our spectacular backyard, rich with natural beauty, innovation and talent — while ensuring the long-term benefits are felt far beyond the host city.

Importantly, RDA Brisbane will be regularly engaged with the Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee in the lead-up to the Games. The meeting focused on the critical importance of delivering a meaningful and lasting legacy for regional Queensland.

Discussions centred on procurement and supply chain participation, and the housing and employment opportunities that will flow from Games-related investment. Ensuring regional businesses and communities are positioned to benefit will be a key priority.

RDA Brisbane will also work closely with fellow RDA Boards across Queensland and nationally to help connect them with key decision-makers and Games stakeholders (including Dominique) — strengthening collaboration and ensuring regional voices are heard as planning progresses.
