RDA Brisbane Chair Kieren Dell, Board Member Allan Morton and newly appointed CEO Nicole Duguid attended the Queensland Resources Council (QRC) Parliamentary Networking Evening on February 10, with the Minister for Natural Resources & Mines Dale Last delivering the keynote address.
Minister Last reinforced the importance of supporting continued growth in Queensland’s resources sector, including the vital Mining Equipment, Technology and Services (METS) sector. QRC CEO Janette Hewson and Resources Industry Network GM Dean Kirkwood also highlighted the sector’s significant contribution to both the state and national economies.
In 2024–25, Queensland’s resources sector contributed more than $115 billion to the state economy, underpinning jobs, investment and long-term regional sustainability.
As a capital city RDA with a statewide remit, RDA Brisbane plays an important role in connecting metropolitan stakeholders with regional industries and opportunities. Engagements such as this strengthen relationships across government and industry, helping to advance sustainable economic growth throughout Queensland’s regions.
