Earlier this month the CEOs of the RDA Capital Cities network came together in Canberra for a rare and valuable in-person meeting, focused on collaboration, value creation, and delivering stronger outcomes for communities across regional Australia.

The group was joined by Jim Betts (Secretary) and Graeme Wolff (Director) at the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts, for a series of discussions on how RDAs can work together to maximise impact and support regional growth.

The Capital City RDAs play a unique role as connectors and advocates for regional development across Australia. The meeting provided an invaluable opportunity to exchange ideas, share insights, develop strategic priorities as a unified network, and strengthen relationships across the country.

During the Canberra visit, RDA Brisbane CEO Nicole Duguid also met with several Federal Government agencies to discuss emerging regional priorities and opportunities. Conversations included the importance of ensuring regional communities are positioned to benefit from major investments associated with Brisbane 2032, including infrastructure, workforce development, supply chains, tourism and legacy planning across Queensland's regions.
