Economic Recovery Plans aim to strengthen and rebuild

Helping local business get back on their feet is a priority of the Brisbane Economic Recovery Plan released by Brisbane’s Lord Mayor this month. The plan demonstrates Council’s commitment to supporting the rebuild of our economy, outlining support, strategies and initiatives to assist in the city’s recovery. The Plan’s Themes for Recovery have been informed by busines surveys and extensive stakeholder consultation, and include rates and fee relief; buy local support; red tape reduction; community groups; skills, training & jobs; infrastructure; and investment. Protecting health, creating jobs, working together and growing the economy are pillars of the next phase of Queensland’s Economic Recovery Plan released by the Premier on 20 August. The plan identifies 6 priorities for recovery and future focus: Safeguarding our health; Backing small business; Making it for Queensland; Building Queensland; Growing our regions; and Investing in skills.
