You are invited to join with the Hon Kate Jones MP, Minister for Innovation and Tourism Industry Development, Greater Brisbane high school Principals and others interested in future of work, innovation and climate change, to a presentation of the ED Toolbox Future of Work, Innovation Pathways and Climate Change Initiatives project at the Precinct, Level 2, TC Beirne Building, 315, Brunswick St, Fortitude Valley on Tuesday, February 25th at 2.30-4.30pm.
Hosted by Digital Business Insights together with CSIRO, RDA Brisbane and the Department of Environment & Science, the event will feature presentations from CSIRO on Innovation pathways, ED Toolbox on Future of work and jobs and the Department of Environment & Science on Climate Change Initiatives, followed by questions and networking.
The ED Toolbox was launched to help students, teachers and parents better understand evolving work and study options, in the face of challenges from new technologies and issues. The ED Toolbox maps the impacts of 20+ new technologies on 400 business categories across 19 industry sectors and is also a resource for business and industry.
The platform also presents current information on Innovation, future of work, climate change initiatives, entrepreneurship, study, smart trades and employment.
Each month through a partnership with CSIRO, government departments, businesses and universities, new content is added on robotics, augmented reality and VR, drones, 3D printing, recycling, space technology, energy, water, climate change, environment, cybersecurity, innovation and design thinking. Plus new STE(A)M stories, Startup stories and Sustainability stories.
This resource has been created to help students, parents, businesses and boards make better informed study and work choices. It also addresses some issues raised in the Education Council Senior Secondary Pathways review.
