Message from Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner
Thank you Brisbane for the resilience and mateship you have shown over the past few devastating days.
While river flooding continues in many suburbs across Brisbane, the worst is over. Please stay up to date on the latest disaster information via my Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn pages.
We are now planning the clean-up which brings another wave of new challenges for us all. With thousands of residents in need of assistance, the best way we can coordinate a clean-up is together to ensure no one gets left behind.
We are now offering assistance through and recruiting for the Mud Army 2.0 which will spring into action once the flood levels start to subside. You can register your property for help from the Mud Army 2.0 by visiting this link.
If you helped out during the 2011 Flood, or have heard the stories about the heroic efforts of hundreds of Brisbane locals, I am urging everyone willing and able to sign up and get involved. You can register by visiting this link.
There continues to be immense disruptions across the city including to public transport. A select number of Brisbane City Council bus services will resume on a limited timetable and all river transport and train services have been cancelled. To stay up to date with the latest public transport information, visit www.translink.com.au.
Brisbane is renowned for its ability to get through disasters and we can do it again.
