BRISBANE

New platform to digitally transform regional economic development

ToolboxRDA Brisbane is a foundation partner in a ground-breaking new nationwide digital initiative supporting smart, connected and sustainable economic development.

The RED (Regional Economic Development) Toolbox is an online platform developed by Brisbane-based Digital Business Insights Pty Ltd (DBi). It targets the economic development issues faced by regions across Australia, with a focus on building productive industries, increasing export, adding value and R&D. It works by enabling active, timely collaboration across organisations, industry sectors and regions, and the sharing of ideas, projects and best practice examples.

The Toolbox contains a showcase of 5,000+ Australian manufacturers, producers and services, plus events, news, blogs, discussion groups and projects relevant to regions across Australia.

Partners - these can include Councils, RDAs and other economic development organisations, government agencies, not-for-profits and research institutes - can join collaborative groups, contribute case studies and stories, and suggest projects, ideas and events.

As well as RDA Brisbane, foundation partners for the project include CSIRO, SEGRA, QMI, Outsource Institute and TIQ.

RDA Brisbane is currently working with DBi to help develop new groups which will focus on specific regions, issues or projects. It is envisaged that Councils and RDAs will be the "anchor" organisations for their regions, and will help bring other partners and organisations on board.
