RDA Brisbane CEO on the judging panel for Queensland Community Achievement Awards
RDA Brisbane CEO Margaret Blade was a member of the Executive Judging Panel for the Queensland Community Achievement Awards, culminating in a gala presentation night on 18 November where finalists and winners in eight award categories were announced and celebrated.
The Queensland Community Achievement Awards are designed to encourage, acknowledge and reward the valuable contributions individuals, communities and businesses are making throughout Queensland.
Brisbane winners on the night were:
- Pullenvale Ward Outstanding Achievement Award - eWaste Connection Ltd, a Chapel Hill social enterprise recycler that provides meaningful engagement for young adults with a disability which prevents them from obtaining regular employment
- Ricoh Australia Customer Service Award - Paws & Relax Pty Ltd of Eagle Farm which provides off leash doggy day care, training and grooming
- University of Southern Queensland Teaching Excellence Award – Mogan Stebbings, a Philosophy and Chemistry teacher at Cavendish Road State High School, who has written new subjects and organised academies that are pioneering, Australian firsts.
Other category winners came from around Queensland including Goondiwindi, Sunshine Coast, Mundubbera and Rockhampton.
