Are you based in Brisbane but looking for a way to contribute to the prosperity of Queensland’s regions? Regional Development Australia Brisbane (RDA Brisbane) is seeking committed leaders to apply to join its Board.
RDA Brisbane is seeking leaders with vision and drive with business, government or community experience who have a passion for regional development and can help to support and facilitate economic opportunities and investment for our regional communities that create jobs and growth.
Applications are being sought from business and community leaders who have a proven track record of achieving meaningful outcomes in complex environments and with diverse stakeholders.
“Regional Australia is poised for a period of growth, with both Federal and State Governments rightly focussing on our regions, making this a wonderful time to be involved in an organisation like Regional Development Australia as it seeks to help shape the future prosperity of regional Australia,” said Kieren Dell, Chair of RDA Brisbane.
Appointed to the position of Chair of the organisation in July 2025, Kieren has extensive experience in business, including 23 years founding and running his own business, Regional Cinemas, which was founded in Nambucca Heads in 2002 and operates 6 sites in northern NSW. Kieren also has almost 40 years of experience in financial services at senior and CEO level, including running a couple of industry bodies. Kieren was Chair of the RDA for the NSW Mid North Coast and Norfolk Island for over 4 years from January 2021, having lived in regional areas for most of the last quarter of a century.
“I look forward to a range of leaders in Brisbane and surrounds, and across business and the community, putting forth their names to join the Board and volunteer their expertise and time to assist RDA Brisbane, and in so doing support the advancement of economic development across regional Queensland and, most importantly, enhance the lives of the people of this amazing state we live in,” he said.
The Boards of the national RDA network are made up of local volunteers giving their time and energy to develop local solutions to local issues. They work with industry, communities, and all levels of government to improve liveability in the regions.
RDA Brisbane is part of a national network of 50 Regional Development Australia committees across Australia and has a charter to support innovation, growth, and development in regional Queensland through collaboration, communication, and advocacy.
Applications are now open – applicants can apply for a position as an RDA Brisbane Board member, with appointments being for an initial 12-month term.
